Lighting the way to the future with LED lights

Today, it would be hard to find someone who wouldn’t have heard about LEDs i.e. light-emitting diodes. LED with its advanced features is ruling the world of electronics and is enjoying the popularity amidst all other types of lighting. But what exactly is the story behind LED that has made it successful? Let’s have a look.

History
LED was discovered in the early 20th century by a Russian researcher Oleg Losev. Oleg Losev was a radio technician who observed that light is emitted through the diodes when electricity is passed through them during a radio transmission. Later in 1970, Nick Holonayk proceeded with this and is today known as ‘Father of LEDs’. Nick Holonayk conducted his own research and created colored LED Lights in hues of red and yellow. Holonayk is also considered as a first person who increased LED Brightness.

Development
With improvement in technology and advancement in science, there began several researches in improving the LED technology. With more developments, LED became brighter and more colorful. With the advancements LED technology, it is today used in various commercial as well as household purposes.

Why LED Is Becoming This Popular?
LED is gaining much popularity and the reason behind this is unmatched advantages that it has. LED Lights have efficiently replaced the incandescent lights as these are more energy-efficient and consumes low power. These LED Lights and Bulbs last longer due to their durable nature and low cost of maintenance. LED Lights have faster switching, are much reliable, and smaller in size but emit more light. LED Lights have advanced features that can easily replace a 60 W halogen light.

Diverse Uses Of LED
With the development of LED Lights, there are many LED Lights Manufacturers who make wide variety of LED Lights, Led Lamps, LED Bulbs, LED Power Supplies or LED Strips. With more options of LED Lights, these are used in various places and are replacing various traditionally used light sources. The versatile uses of the LEDs have made them commonly used for lightning various houses and commercial areas. The light of these LEDs are also used in cars, traffic signals and even in airplanes. LED Lights are also used innovatively for various decoration purposes because of their excellent features such as various colors, dimmed light, and many others.

LEDs have great future. There are many researchers who are engaged in constant development of LEDs. LED would be seen everywhere your eyes can see. In the lightbar on the police car, on your computer or mobile screen or the headlights of your cars, LEDs would be every where in the near future and will become more popular for years to come.
